I read many articles about anxiety, and I also took some workshops at the university about CBT or cognitive distortion thoughts. However I found this article very informative and excellent. My English is not my my first language; nevertheless, I understand all of the phrases.

Thanks

Hi,

I am Ammar Ahmed from Karachi Pakistan. I am/was suffering, what i feel, anxiety. I am 26, my father died in 2003, so pretty much load on me but things are getting better. I had Acute Asthma attach 3 months back and since then a bit weak in mental condition. I do experience symptoms described in this article, so i feel a bit is there. Though I am not fully sure how and when it erupts but I really want to get rid of it. I am right now feeling much stronger. I constantly try something out for these problems and I feel following help me :

1. Dont be hurry, things take time, there is no quick relief to any pain. tell yourself that things will be fine, any and every pain cant kill, they are just minor body signals that something is wrong.

2. Self-voice is the key to control it.

3. Healthier and balance diet, fruits of the season, balance of all vegetables, hygienic and less fatty food can no doubt help your physical fitness and the really helps in mantle health. I feel my prayers do help me. Sleep on time and complete your sleep.

4. Exercise or yoga or any similar practice can really help maintain both physical and mantle health.

5. Try to make a contingency plan. Something that can help you instantly. Try to divert your thinking and try to quite your self-voice.

A, Something positive and good written on a card which you can keep with yourself and read at times and quite your self-voice.

B, A Song that you really like and can distort or divert your self-voice.

C, Talking to someone who is on your frequency. A devoted and loving friend or best can be a family member.

I hope someone in the world can find my words helping for him/her.

Always remember, you got so much, your body, your family, your friends, your spouse, your children, so many blessings. What you do have is not your for now but can be your if you be patient and determinant. If you are, then nothing can stop you, let it take its time.

I'm a sufferer of this disease and from time to time I feel alone. I found that self help is one of the best ways to combat this unwanted disease.

IMHO this is a good article which reflects very well the inner turbulence of our soul.
I cannot understand those useless comments above, I'm not English native speaker but I perfectly understand what's written here.
Good points, but the problem is to practice all this stuff, my will sometimes is not so strong :-)

I don't believe it is true that people whom suffer from anxiety attacks don't know how to enjoy life. I am a sufferer and I usually love life when my anxiety is not in my mind.

I suggest you get this edited professionally. While you have some good points, your comments lose credibility because of all the spelling and grammar errors.. not to mention it distracts from the content. I had to go back and reread sentences a few times to fully understand what you were trying to say. Then I gave up halfway because it makes my brain hurt, and rather just focused on finding a way to tell you to fix your errors. I notice someone else had the same problem.

You have excellent points to make and this would be very useful to someone that needs this advice, but just because English isn't your first language doesn't provide you with the excuse you're trying to make. Find someone to help you edit!

Agreed, but English is not my first language. Do I stop work on this site because of that or do the best I can to get my message across?

Good ideas in this article, thank you for posting!

Without intending to be a stickler, I wanted to draw your attention to the grammatical mistakes that popped up throughout the article. The article will read a lot smoother and sound more professional after it goes through a good proofreading and revising.

Best wishes!
